This Halloweeened, Monday, October 31st, Knights of the (one and only) Tiber will be hosting a costume contest, open to all SEHS students. Contestants may dress as any character from literature ranging from Greek and Roman mythology to comic books, movies, and video games. All costumes must be in good taste and costumes of a teacher must have a permission slip from that teacher. Entrance into the contest requires a $2 permission slip from Mr. Lazos by Friday. Contestees get to have fun in costume and go an entire day without ties! Any questions see Mr. Lazos in room 218.

Costume Contest for Halloween sponsored by Knights of the Tiber
-come as our favorite literary character, author, or mythological figure
-Parameters:
-Not allowed coming as a public school kid
-need to pick up a permission slip and bring back the Friday the 28th before Halloween with the name of their character and a two dollar admission fee
-the money goes to Knights of the Tiber
-costumes have to be relatively tasteful
-no weapons as props

Play:
-Ulysses and Neo arrive on Lemnos and discuss their plan to bring Philoctetes back from the Trojan war
-takes place after Achilles dies and before the Trojan Horse
-Philoctetes was bitten by a snake on Lemnos and now smells badly and is in constant, severe pain
-Ulysses tells Neo that he has to talk to Philoctetes because Phil hates Ulysses
-Neo doesn't want to lie, but he does
-Phil gives Neo the bow of Hercules and Ulysses reappears and says that they will leave with the bow either way
-Phil is given the bow, but still doesn't wasn't to go
-Hercules appears and tells Phil that if he goes, he will become famous
-this is an example of Deus Ex Machina: a god appearing to solve a problem when the situation is the worst it could be
-it is usually viewed badly in modern society
-The Philoctetes is unique because Sophacles, Euripetes, ? and are believed to have written stories about Philoctetes, but only Sophacles's survived

-He loves Latin and wants to get involved with this club.

-Wants to make up for his lost time from not joining the club earlier.

-If there is any office that you think is needed, please anonounce it. Cretaivity is very good and smiled upon.
-Try to get an executive that can open the meeting before Mr. Cavoli or Mr. Stemm is able to come. Orgainze work to do before the meeting actually starts.
-Wants to label everyone as a Vice President to put on college records.
If you run for a position, please be willing to do it for the entire year.
